Coffee Or Tea - Which Is Better For You?

While, it's mostly the caffeine that gets people going, a side benefit from drinking these beverages is that you may be boosting your immune system and helping to fight disease. Most people cannot function without either their morning cup of coffee or tea.

While the health benefits of drinking green tea have been much publicized, few people realize that drinking coffee can have health benefits as well but recent studies show that coffee may share some of the healthy attributes that green tea has shown.

Both coffee and green tea have been shown to contain compounds which have antibacterial properties that can help prevent tooth decay and may help to fight food poisoning. All of which help in glucose metabolism and result in those who regularly drink coffee having a reduced risk of diabetes. Like green tea, coffee has antioxidants including quinines, chlorogenic acid and tocopherols as well as essential minerals such as magnesium.

In addition, green tea may also help you lose weight and is said to help lower blood sugar and cholesterol as well as slow the aging process. Green tea has been shown to have a role in the prevention of cancer, rheumatoid arthritis, cardiovascular disease, cataracts, and to help boost your immune system.

Other health benefits of coffee include a reduced risk of developing Parkinsons Disease, help in relieving asthma symptoms, stopping tension headaches, and inhibiting the formation of gallstones. Coffee is said to contain compounds that boost the activity of enzymes which may protect against colon cancer (according to animal studies published in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry).

Some say 10 cups a day, others say you can experience the benefits with 3 cups a day. While most everyone agrees that the caffeinated should only be taken in small amounts (no more than 3 cups of coffee a day) to avoid the addictive qualities of the caffeine, it's a bit more vague on how much tea is recommended. When it comes to the question of how much coffee or tea you need to benefit the answers can be a bit confusing.

An Energy Lifter without Cigarette, Coffee, or Ephedra

Unfortunately, cigarette (neural energy) causes cancer and other illnesses, caffeine (physical energy) is an expensive and unhealthy addiction, ephedra was banned by FDA. We all know cigarette, coffee and ephedra give people energy.

We can not take any of these without health risks, but it doesn't mean we do not need energy.

People often experience lifted energy level after drinking tea. Many holistic people believe the answers lies in tea, especially the Green Tea.

In a month, impaired blood vessel functioning (a risk factor for heart attack and strokes) improved about 50% in the tea drinkers. In another recent test, Joseph Vita, M.D., of the Boston University School of Medicine, had heart patients drink either plain water or four cups of black tea daily. In a large 10-year study in the Netherlands, men who consumed only the catechins in half a cup of tea. Green tea also reduces heart disease risks, as polyphenols in green tea extract helps prevent deadly clogging of arteries and reverses poor arterial functioning that can trigger heart attacks and strokes, two major new studies have found.

The remaining moisture in the green tea leaves eventually ferment and making green tea black, thus black tea. When fresh tea leaves are picked and dried, it is green tea. The difference between black tea and green tea is the fermentation. Tests in the west usually uses black tea as that is what's available.

Green tea is studied to be much more powerful in all tea's healthy functions than black tea. Green tea is usually only available in the west in the form of extracts, as extracted green tea powder is no longer fermented in the storage.

Because green tea extract increases metabolism, it is also a fat burner. It helps with thermogenesis and helps the metabolism of fat. It works without increasing the heart rate that is most often associated with most fat burners. It also works without causing jitters and other unwanted side effect.

However, Green tea alone will not produce sustained energy. Another herb, Rhodiola Rosea Extract, improves the ratio of muscle/fat and increases hemoglovin and erythrocytes levels in the blood. Another vital factor with Rhodiola Rosea is that it boosts mental state, making the energy lifting not only a physical phenomena, but also a neural response.

Extracts of Rhodiola Rosea enhances the transport of serotonin precursors, tryptophan, and 5-hydroxytryptophan into the brain. Serotonin is a widely studied brain neurotransmitter chemical involved in many functions. Unbalanced serotonin has been linked to various abnormal mental states such as clinical depression. Russian scientists have used Rhodiola alone or in combination with antidepressants to boost one's mental state.

When green tea and Rhodiola Rosea are combined with Rhizome Curculiginis and Lion's Tail Grass, not only a product that can lift both physical and mental energy is born, but also is born an extremely healthy group of antioxidants in a single formula.

When this formulation works in one's body, one will not feel the jittery caused by cigarette, coffee or ephedra. It works quietly, providing more oxygen to the brain, making one alert and intrinsically energetic. One shall experience such energy lifting in less than 30 minutes after taking a fast release capsule.

my first keurig

I was initially skeptical when a good friend mentioned that I must purchase a Keurig Single Cup Coffee Brewer. Greg, who unfortunately lives out of town, is the same friend who's opinion I trusted most. With a little online research and a lot of assurance from him, I decided to purchase the Special Edition B60 Single Cup Coffee Brewer. Now with the machine and its many varieties of coffee, tea and cocoa packets in my possession, I was ready to start brewing.
Since my past consisted of only owning multi-cup drip coffee makers, I was excited to realize my days of chugging hours old sludge were over. I always despised making a full jug of four, eight or twelve cups of coffee each day, just to pour the majority away hours later. What a waste. In the present, my life has changed with the Keurig Single Cup, brewing one delicious hot cup of coffee or tea at a time. It's been 10 years since the introduction of the innovative Keurig single-cup brewing system. Sometimes I'm slow in realizing new advancements and the Keurig is no exception. Since you can't make up lost time, I shall move forward with my large variety of coffees, teas, and cocoas and start making some delicious treats.
Let us first start with the type of water to use. Tap water is fine, however I suggest bottled spring water if you want a better tasting coffee. Next, you will have to shop for the patented Keurig K-cups. They offer more than 190 varieties of coffee, tea, and hot cocoa. Varieties of coffee from light to extra bold, flavored, decaffeinated, half-caffeinated, to full caffeine all from famous name blends. Several different varieties of tea are also available, as well as Ghirardelli Premium Hot Cocoa. My favorites included Emerils Big Easy Bold Coffee with its invigorating deep smokey flavor, and the Celestial Seasonings Decaffeinated Green Tea with its smooth flavor and natural goodness using a compound that occurs naturally in the tea leaves. I found the full-bodied brew of this green tea an evening delight, relaxing me prior to bedtime.
Now that you made your choice of coffee or tea, all you have to do is turn on the brewer, and fill with the desired amount of water. The brewer will notify you when the right amount of water is in the machine. Place a single serve cup beneath, choose your cup size and hit brew button. Wow, this is simple! In less than a minute the Keurig well say when the cup of coffee or tea is ready. After using the coffee maker cup the manufacturer recommends, you can rinse out the machine by brewing a cup of hot water without a K-cup. This ensures a perfect cup for the next person who may choose a different flavor. This is especially helpful for the Keurig coffee maker in the office. Speaking of office, now I know where i'll put my Second Keurig Coffee Maker . If I only had a summer home. Before I forget, I must once again thank Greg for another excellent recommendation.

top reasons why im a coffeehouse lover

To me, there is nothing more relaxing and conducive to creative juices flowing than sitting in a comfortable, overstuffed chair with a hot cup of coffee or tea by my side. First and foremost, I'm a writer. There are many reasons I'm a coffeehouse lover. I don't have time to deal with foaming and frothing milk, nor do I want the hassle of steam burns and a mess in the kitchen. Also, I get something at coffeehouses that I can't get at home: a decent espresso drink. The service at coffeehouses is amazing, and the people there are always smiling and cheery (even at the God awful hour of 6 am). If that's not worth $3, I don't know what is! When I go to a coffeehouse, everything is prepared perfectly and I don't have to clean anything up. Plus, the variety found at my local coffeehouse is unlike anything in any home I've ever seen. While I like cappuccinos and lattes as much as the next girl, sometimes I like to switch things up a bit. When I feel like a cup of ginger green tea, I can have it. If I change my mind and decide that I want a sweet and blended frozen beverage, I can have that too, all without having to go to a store. Also, the company found at my local coffeehouse is second to none. There are artsy people, professional men and women in suits, college students and more. It's a slice of life and something I appreciate sitting in the midst of. I don't have to pay $60 a month for wireless, I can just head down the street to a coffeehouse, something I'd be doing anyway. Probably the best out of all of the reasons I'm a coffeehouse lover is the fact that I can get free wireless internet.

keurig is great customer service

My first introduction to the Keurig Single Cup Coffee Maker was in the dental office. I work in an office that strives to stand apart from its competition by focusing greatly on customer service. With all the money that we spend on technology in the dental opera tory with lasers, televisions, and computers, the coffee maker has surprisingly been the most cost effective way to make our patients feel cared and special.
We placed one in the waiting room where patients can browse the selections and make a cup of delight at the touch oh their fingertips. The anxious patient can relax with a cup of green tea, waiting moms can recharge with a cup a cappuccino, and kids love the warm sweet cocoa. Our staff is constantly sneaking out into the waiting room to help themselves to a cup of gourmet coffee. I am also guilty! My favorites include the Lemon Blueberry Passion Tea, the Cinnamon Mocha, and the Half Calf for afternoons where I find myself dragging but don't want to up all night.
It was not long after this purchase that a  Keurig Coffee Maker made it into my house as well as the home of my mother. What a great gift by the way! I was the only true coffee drinker in my home so it was great to be able to brew a gourmet cup just for myself. But now with all the delicious choices, my husband has become a fan. Not to mention it's always a big hit with guests.
Now I think the Keurig should be everywhere. Salons and spas usually offer a glass of water or tea, so why not an assortment of 190 different flavors of coffee, tea, and cocoa available in less than a minute? Car dealerships, medical offices, or any place with a waiting room can benefit from a Keurig Coffee Maker.
